AKI goes for growth

A K Industries has decided to go for Growth with the helping hand of the Government supported 'Growth Accelerator' programme.
Concurrently, Allen Green, Managing Director, has taken on a new role as Chair for the Local Advisory Commission to the Midlands Growth Accelerator Programme.
Allen Green says "I was approached by John Hill, CEO of PERA who are managing the delivery of Growth Accelerator right across the West Midlands, and asked if i would chair this potentially influential advisory commission. I was told that my business background and non-exec involvement in organisations such as; Business Link, Malvern Hills Science Park, Medilink and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Association provided the right credentials for the role".
For those who are yet to learn about Growth Accelerator, it is an innovative programme in which the government has created a new partnership with the private sector, and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
£200 Million has been invested into the programme in order to help up to 26,000 of England's brightest businesses achieve their ambition and potential, as well as creating 55,000 high-value jobs.
Vince Cable says "The UK boasts vibrant small and medium sized businesses that have the chance to become the household names of tomorrow. With targeted support we are giving entrepreneurs a fantastic opportunity to take their business forward to succeed both here and abroad. I look forward to seeing what this great programme helps them achieve in the future".
The programme is thought to be in part a recognition of the fact that almost all new jobs are created through the expansion of small to medium sized businesses that are young and fast-growing.
Thus, Growth Accelerator targets companies just like us, with leaders who are extremeley passionate about growing their businesses, and intend to double them within three years. We are the perfect example of a company in a rural city , raring to increase the capacity of our manufacturing production.
