Gas assisted injection moulding

(250 tonne, 170 tonne and 85 tonne machines have interfaces to the portable Battenfeld Airmould Gas Unit). The principle of this process is that nitrogen gas is injected, during the moulding cycle, either through the sprue or directly into the mould tool. At a controlled high pressure this has the benefit of overcoming sink marks or introducing a cavity without the requirement of a core. Other cost benefits include faster cycle times and reduced material requirement. aki are using the Airmould Battenfeld gas injection process which is a mobile system and can therefore be attached to various presses.  More...

Laser Drilling of Plastics

Moulded parts can now have precision drilled holes which cannot be guaranteed within the moulding process. Different drilling operations can easily be performed by rapid reprogramming and costs reduced by incorporating these operations within the machine cycle.
